The Real and Inverted

The world around me is dark and scary,
The End of Days was here too soon.
The evil faces in the sky start to loom,
And I can hear the wind shouting,
Spelling out my doom.

I was tired, And I was sick,
And in my heart spread
A pain that I had experienced never.
I was scared, And I was afraid,
Fearing everything, I had been running forever.

I needed a rest.
And I sat down beside the river,
To spend some time with something real.
Silence spoke to me in a whole new way,
And I saw him, staring at me from under the water,
His eyes non blinking, and a solid color of teal.

Dressed in his war clothes,
The Warrior, he was ready to fight.
He looked me in the eye, Fear and Shame,
Was all that he found in them.
Angered by what he saw, He shouted,
Do what you think is right.

He knew how it was to be scared,
He knew how scary it was to be afraid,
Cause the face beneath the water saw no light.
It was dark and evil around him always,
And the loneliness got to him sometimes,
But he still never gave up his fight.

Standing by his beliefs, supporting his thoughts,
Fighting for what he thought was right.
He was hurt, and all seemed like a distant dream,
The Warrior that he was, would not give up,
And kept his dreams and happiness in distant sight.

The Face in the Water looked familiar,
The face, I used see quite a lot.
I had lost him somewhere in the crowd,
Running all this while, only to find
He was my Real and Inverted
He was what I was not.
